Brian Alexander

Brian is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor. Brian has devoted his adult life to pursue his passion in aiding the public via emergency services and as a lifetime learner he is equally as passionate about not only providing the awareness and knowledge through EMS classes but takes great pride in the success of every student. Brian finds it immensely rewarding to watch a student’s transition from when they first enter the classroom to confidently performing CPR, AED and/or EMS skills by the end of a course. His desire is that regardless of an individual’s prior experience that after taking a course they leave with the confidence that in the face of an emergency they will not hesitate to perform lifesaving aid in the course of their duties as an emergency responder, doctor, nurse or as a bystander, until emergency personnel arrive.

With over 30 years in emergency services and public safety, his career in emergency services started in 1996 when he became an EMT while in university and soon after became a volunteer firefighter. Brian eventually moved back to the Bay Area, where he worked as an EMT in San Francisco and through-out the Bay Area. Years later Brian changed his career path and worked as a police officer, until his retirement. After retirement, Brian returned to school while working as an EMS instructor at a local community college before moving on to nursing school. In addition to teaching CPR, AED, and First Aid, Brian works full time as a registered nurse.
